Privacy Policy

This notice explains what information Legacy Nation collects through this website, why it is collected, and how you can have it removed.

What we collect

We only collect information you choose to submit. Depending on the form, that can include your name, email address, phone number, organisation, role, city and country, the content of your message or application, your programme or expertise selections, and — for applicants under 18 — a parent or guardian's name and contact detail.

When you vote in a poll we store your chosen option together with a one-way fingerprint derived from your connection and browser. That fingerprint cannot be reversed into an IP address; it exists only to keep polls to one vote per visitor.

Why we collect it

  • To respond to your enquiry, application or partnership proposal.
  • To assess and screen mentor and participation applications.
  • To send the newsletter, where you have explicitly consented.
  • To publish moderated community responses, where you have consented.
  • To protect our forms from automated abuse and spam.

Consent

Every form on this site requires you to actively consent before submitting. Consent for the newsletter is separate from consent to handle an enquiry, and consent for publishing a community response is separate again. We never assume consent from silence or from a pre-ticked box.

Who can see your information

Submissions are stored in a secured database and are visible only to authorised members of the Legacy Nation engagement team. Nothing you submit is published unless you gave explicit consent for publication, and no personal information is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

Retention and removal

We keep submissions for as long as needed to handle the matter they relate to and to maintain accurate programme records. You can ask us to remove your information at any time through the contact form, and we will confirm once it has been deleted.

Community responses

Responses submitted for publication are moderated before they appear. Approved responses show only the display name and city you provided — never your email address. Moderation standards are set out in the community guidelines.

Updates to this notice

This notice will be updated as the platform grows. Organisational registration and compliance details will be published here once confirmed by the organisation.
